Ajijic, Lake Chapala our Safe Little Corner of Paradise

The world is a very dangerous place at the moment.  A lot of very upsetting things are happening.  Every day there is news of some fresh disaster.  Police killing black men and policemen being shot.  Attempted coups in Turkey.  Isis attacks on all fronts and attacks in Nice.

Killings in Orlando, Baton Rouge, Minnesota and not the least of which is the conventon being held in Cleveland for the GOP.

There is hatred and division everywhere and there does not seem an end in sight.

We can only hope calmer heads will eventually prevail and some normalcy, understanding and peace will return to the world.

I was even upset by Brexit.  England being my homeland I had always thought them to make impeccable decisions and be strong in the face of adversity.  Such is not the case at the moment and I hope that unhappy situation can be resolved.

Here in Ajijic, Lake Chapala, there has been a spike in robberies of ex-pats but, as far as I can see, it is still a very safe haven compared to any other place one can name with the possible exception of Canada.

Don’t let recent events here upset you there is danger much greater everywhere else.  Be vigilant, lock your doors and do not allow strangers into your home.
