Ajijic Tango Early Bird Lunch Special from Ajijic, Lake Chapala

Ajijic Tango is located at Morelos # 5, in Ajijic. Their telephone # is 766-2458 but they do not take reservations for lunch or on Saturday and Sunday. Ajijic Tango is closed on Tuesdays.

We all know Ajijic Tango to be a wonderful Argentinean Steak House for dinner in a very lovely setting with cozy outdoor fireplaces to keep us warm during these unusually cool evenings.

They also have a Early Bird Lunch Special from 12:30 – 1:30 pm Monday to Friday again with no reservations. All lunch specials are $50.00 pesos.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this lunch special which I experienced for the first time today.

One, of course, has the option of ordering from their regular menu which includes, rib eyes, filet mignons, flap meat (to my mind the best thing on the menu), chicken, pastas, salads, rack of lamb, pork and beef tenderloin and a large variety of very delicious appetizers per person or to share with the table. We particularly like the spinach fritters, Argentinean sausage and Portobello mushrooms with grilled red peppers and provolone cheese.

They have a very nice wine list and the service, albeit sometimes slow, is friendly and courteous.

For lunch they have Argentinean Sandwiches in a variety of flavors. I selected the vegetarian sandwich which was served with salad and crunchy French fries. My friend had the arrachera salad and there is also chicken, pork and beef salads. They have two pizzas on special. One is with mozzarella and tomato and the other one is mozzarella, tomato and pesto. They have four special pastas. Lasagna, vegetarian lasagna, spaghetti and Bolognese sauce and I think a pasta Alfredo,

With you meal comes their delicious homemade petite rolls with a selection of butter and sauces including their chimichurro sauce which is great with the bread or spinach fritters.

All beef dishes are grilled with natural firewood for a very distinctive flavor.

We have always enjoyed Ajjijic Tango for dinner and I am sure you will enjoy it for lunch as well.
