Christmas/Navidad

The holidays are upon us and Thanksgiving is this Thursday, November 28th.   We hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving

Usually our very dear friends come for Thanksgiving but this year they are travelling and will not arrive until December 19th which we are looking forward to very much.

We have family arriving December 12th, 13th and 16th and we are happy to have all our children home for Christmas.

When the kids were young and there was the normal squabbling in the house one of us would say “Christmas” and everyone would stop fighting and remember how very lucky we were.  We still use that mechanism to this day.

Christmas is a very special time of year when there is a real feeling of well-being and good will toward all men (and women) which I think all of us would love to have year round.

It is a very special feeling which goes to our very hearts and makes us all hopeful and positive about the present and future.

At Christmas we all do wonderful things not only for our own family and friends but for others who are not as so very lucky as we are

There are so many wonderful and worthwhile charities here in Ajijic, Lake Chapala.  I am sure you can fine one which suits you.

Every Christmas our kids would fill two huge baskets with festive goodies.  One would be for the children of an orphanage and the other for the elderly in an assisted living facility.  This would give our kids great pleasure as we have so much and it is a wonderful feeling to share.

Google “list of charities or foundation in Ajijic, Lake Chapala” and you will be able to see where your giving might be the most needed.

Having friends and family around you for the holidays is a most wonderful gift but, to me, the best gift is the “Christmas Feeling” all around us.  Remember how good it feels and let’s see if we can make it last longer than the January sales.

Merry Christmas to all and Feliz Navidad a todos!
