Cocinart Restaurant in Ajijic, Lake Chapala
We had been hearing a lot of good things about this relatively new restaurant in Ajijic, Lake Chapala. Cocinart Restaurant is 15 months old.
What we first heard was their Creme Brulee was to die for.
Having checked them out on Facebook a friend and I decided to try i last Friday night and we were not disappointed.
The food advertised as healthy and International is absolutely delicious. I had probably the best salad I have ever had called the Cocinart Salad and my friend had the BBQ’s ribs, with corn on the cob and regular and swet potato fries and cole slaw. We shared a bottle of Sarmiento Sauvignon Blanc for $180 pesos and, naturally, shared a Creme Brulee which certainly lived up to its hype. All prices are very reasonable.
It was very difficult making a decision as there were so many yummy choices on the menue. Every week they have a special theme and we are looking forward to French Week so we can enjoy the short ribs.
They have a breakfast menu, lunch menu and dinner menu. For $15.00 pesos more you can order anything on the lunch menu for dinner.
All three menus have delightful items on them including Eggs Benedict and a McDonald Breakfast Sandwich, a Reuben Sandwich, Spaghetti Arrabiata, various Indian dishes, rib eye steak and many other favorites such as Chicken Vindaloo and Niza Salad with fresh tuna.
The service was very good even though the restaurant was full. It is a cozy setting, very charming and inviting.
They do make substitutions and anything else they can do to make you feel welcome and insure you enjoy your meal.
They have a limited but sufficient wine list and other mixed drinks.
They are closed Monday and Tuesday but are open Wednesday – Sunday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
Reservations are a must and you can send them a message on facebook or call 01 331 395 3810 and they are located on 16th of September # 4-d just east of Colon on the south side.
The dessert menu at Cocinart offers Creme Brulee, several different kinds of cake, gelatos, a rich chocolate brownie with ice cream and some blueberry concoction to name a few.
Both of us throughtly enjoyed our meal and time spent at Cocinart and will certainly be returning in the near future.
Buen Provecho!
