La Taverna dei Quattro Mori
When we lived in Toronto, Canada many lifetimes ago one of the many things we loved about that city was the many excellent Italian restaurants.
For many years now we have been frequenting La Tarverna dei Quattro Mori. We would go there because they made all the pasta in house and we love the creative daily specials as well as the regular menu. A couple of my favorites were homemade ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta chesse in a fresh tomato and basil sauce and also the Margarita pizza.
My husband would often order off the specials menu which included rabbit, game, lamb and other delectable delicacies.
Fairly recently La Taverna has added several veal dishes which are delicious and served with fresh pasta. (which I substitute for grilled vegetables). They have veal with lemon sauce, Marsala sauce and a couple of other choices. The veal is very tender and a real treat as veal is not readily found in Ajijic, Lake Chapala.
La Taverna also has a nice wine list to accompany your meal and a wonderful selection of crisp, fresh salads including my favorite Caprese which mozzarella and tomatoes with fresh basil.
There are an array of fresh pastas and sauces to choose from including a deliciously spicy Arrabiata.
They have a wonderful flan for dessert along with other choices.
I am sure you will find something that you will enjoy on their extensive and wonderful Italian menu.
