Scotiabank Northern Lights Music Festival

February 16th to March 1st, 2015 are the dates for the 13th annual Scotiabank Northern Lights Music Festival.

Christopher Wilshere is the Artistic Director of Northern Lights and is recognized as “One of Canada’s proudest exports” by Canada’s ambassador to the United States.  Christopher is the founder of Northern Lights and my husband and I first heard Chris play the violin about 15 years ago at Diana’s Restaurant in San Antonio Tlayacapan east of Ajijic, Lake Chapala.

I spontaneously broke into tears at the beauty of his music and residents and visitors have similarly enjoyed his music and the music of the musicians from Canada bring to our village in the sun.  It started out as a welcome break from the Canadian winter to come and spend a couple of weeks in our amazing climate and it has grown year by year to the wonderful festival of diverse concerts it is today.

In this month’s Ojo del Lago there is a complete insert outlining the history of the concert the concert times and locations with details of the various concerts and biographies of the musicians.

The insert also explains how you may become a patron of the festival which offers many perks.

General tickets are being sold now from 10 am to 2 pm Monday-Friday at La Nueva Posada Hotel and Restaurant located at Donato Guerra #9 in Ajijic.

For information on ticket sales you can contact: SNLMFtickets@gmail.com or contact Maureen Welch at (376) 766-6087
