U.S. Open Championship June 15-21, 2015

Right now the U.S. Open Championship, the 2nd major golf tournament of the year, is being playing at Chamber Bay, University Place, Washington.

This is always a special golf tournament as it usually falls on Father’s Day.  This, of course, is a wonderful gift of the final round being played on Sunday, June 21st which, in fact, is Father’s Day.

It is quite an interesting Leader Board at the moment with the young amateur from University of llinois in the hunt and feels confident an amateur can win the U.S. Open.  He is 21 making the new star Jordan Speith, also in the hunt, look like an old man.

The probably cut is going to be 3 under and at the moment Tiger Woods is at 12 over par tied for 152nd out of 156.  In my opinion it is going to be very difficult for Tiger to return to his former glory as, clearly, golf is a game between the ears and Tiger is trying too hard.  The harder he tries the worse his score.

The top of the Leader Board is very crowded but not with the usual suspects.

Watching the 4 majors together is something my husband and I both enjoy.  I also enjoy watching the 4 tennis majors but, alas my husband does not share my love of tennis.

At the end of this month June 29 – July 12 we have Wimbledon, the 3rd major tennis tournament, played just outside of London England, to which we  can  look forward  followed by the British Open Championship from July 12-19 this year being played at the historic St. Andrew’s in Scotland.

What a wonderful month of sport viewing we have coming up.

We also can take great pleasure in the fact that we live in a magnificent climate where we can play golf and tennis year round here in Ajijic, Lake Chapala.
