I blogged about this new Hotel and Restaurant a couple of weeks ago and since we have now had dinner there I would like to report on that evening.

Our very dear friends were here last week from Chicago and we decided it would be the perfect time to have dinner at Hacienda del Lago.
The setting was absolutely beautiful in the garden of the old renovated hacienda with pretty lights and candles and wonderful landscaping.
The tables were very far apart in little alcoves providing maximum privacy and the welcome and service was superb.
Chef Eric did an amazing job as usual and we all enjoyed our dinners thoroughly. For appetizers we had Escargots, Brie and Broccoli Soup and Baby Beet, Arugula Salad with goat cheese and candied peanuts and wonderful pesto croutons. The bread was also delicious.
For the main course three of us had the Lamb Shank (a well- known specialty of Chef Eric) and the fourth member of our party had Cornish Game Hen which he enjoyed too.
We did not have dessert but understand the special Crème Broulee is to die for.
If I had a complaint it would be that the wine list was very limited but I am sure they will be adding new selections in the fullness of time. Our friends went back again the night before they left and had the Escargots, Baby Beet Salad and Rib Eye steaks and did enjoy dessert.
We also will be returning to enjoy other items on the menu.
Hacienda del Lago Ajijic will not be doing a New Year’s Eve Party this year but are planning a gala Masquerade Ball for Valentine’s Day 2013.
The rooms are beautifully appointed and run approximately $250.00 US per night including a full breakfast.
