Yoga in Ajijic, Lake Chapala
As I am sue you most of you know by now aging is not for the weak of heart. Some do it more gracefully than others and some fight it every step of the way.
I think one of the things that help is exercise of some sort and to basically keep moving.
I walk 5 days a week with our dogs for an hour but this no longer seemed to be getting the job done
I am certainly not going to quit walking but rather thought I would add something to my regime.
My neighbor is a noted Yoga instructor and she told me about The Drishti Center in Ajijic so I decided to investigate.
I had read on facebook that gentle Yoga for the over 60 crowd seems to very much help with mobility and reducing stiffness.
There are many different levels and types of Yoga classes available at The Drishti Center and it is centrally located with a number of different instructors to choose from.
The Drishti Center is located on Allen W. Loyd 152-C in San Antonio Tlayacapan, Ajijic. This is the road leading up to the Little Theatre. Ana Paula Hernandez heads up the center and can be reached at 045 331 047 4423. Email: info@drishticenter.com
They also have a web site: www.drishticenter.com which provides you with information on fees, schedules, promotions etc. Pilates are also available at The Drishti Center.
You first class is free and then packages are available to suit your needs. I have attended my first class with Kathleen who teaches an Ageless Yoga Class on Thursdays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. I enjoyed it very much although it will be a while before I can successfully do the “downward facing dog”.
I am going to try to go 3 times a week and Kathleen suggested I attend 8 classes to start to feel the full benefits of the Yoga experience but I must admit I did feel better, mentally at least, after the first class.
See you there!
Namaste.
