Yoly's Hair and Nail Salon in Ajijic, Lake Chapala, Mexico
Yoly's Hair and Nails in Ajijic
When I was in Toronto, Canada I went to a salon called Michael Kluthe at St. Clair and Yonge. It was a very exclusive salon. The colorist, Lily, had won many international awards and Michael himself went back to Europe at least once a year to say on top of the most current trends and styles.
Before Michael Kluthe opened his own salon he worked at another very exclusive salon on Bloor Street called. Caruso’s. I have never had a cheap hair cut in my life and twice a week looked forward to my time with Michael. Michael was a very interesting man who loved golfing in Bermuda and beautifully looked after all of his wealthy clients.
When I first moved to Ajijic, Lake Chapala I returned to Toronto at least once a year to see family and to go Michael Kluthe for a hair cut and color. Between these times I would cut my own hair and do my own color.
One day someone told me about Yoly’s in Ajijic, Lake Chapala locted in the Bugumbila Plaza on the carretara. Before then I had tried one or two places and when my hair came out steel grey (not at all what I was going for) I gave up and decided to stay with my once a year make-over in Toronto.
For some reason I decided to try Yoly’s as hope springs eternal and I still hoped I could fine someone here to my hair to my very specific requirements. The salon was bright and clean and the staff was very pleasant and eager to please.
Whenever my father, who was in his 80’s, would come to visit for several months to get out of the northern deep freeze I would take him to Yoly’s and they all made a huge fuss over him and took care of him beautifully. He loved going to Yoly’s and even though he did not understand Spanish would have spirited conversations with the girls.
